Started riding from the Barr Trailhead at 4:30 in the morning. Was still pretty dark at 1,000 feet above CO Springs.
In the dark, I possibly missed a turn for the switchbacks to Barr camp. ended up at the incline (2,000 feet of stairs) After debating the options, in the end I chose to take on the incline on about half of the whole stair climb with the fat bike on my back. probably would've been shorter to go back and find the trail. Oh well, how many bikes have been on the incline? I'm guessing not many if any.
At some point I made it to Barr camp, then based on the recommendations of the camp guy I took Elk Park trail for some good / better riding to the Pikes Peak road. from there is was a constant climb on pavement or a rocky to good - hard pack trail towards the peak.
